From both the North and South
leave the A19 at the ‘Thornaby / Ingleby Barwick
/ Teesport’ junction. At the roundabout if heading North
on the A19 take the 3rd exit and if heading South
follow the filter lane to the left signed A174 Whitby, after 200
yards filter into the left lane and take the exit marked Stainton
/ Maltby. The slip road will follow a steep left uphill turn,
stay in the left lane until the bend finishes. At the top filter
into the right lane taking the 2nd exit at the
roundabout. You will pass a hotel on your right, then just under
a mile you will pass under a bridge carrying the A19. Less than
100 meters after the bridge there is a left turn-off. Take this,
passing the entrance to the motor auctions and the front of the
"Grenadier" public house, and then take a left at the next
T-junction taking you into the village of Maltby. A few hundred
yards along, just after a small church, you will see a right turn
sign posted Hilton. Take this and follow the road for a mile.
The entrance to our field is on the right at the third bend, the
pictures below show you the lay-by in question.
