Unlike last year the sun shone throughout the weekend leading to a few sunburnt faces by the end of the competition. You can find plenty of pictures of the flying action by following this link.

2004 Events

Boulby Potash Dome December 2004

Our second and final visit to the Boulby Potash Mine for 2004. Martin became the first pilot to get his brushless motor powered Zoom 400 inverted and Lee managed to amuse us all by flying slaloms around the overhead wires with his Zap 400 and surviving intact! Darren managed to hover his Piccolo Fun for more than a 30 seconds too!

Boulby Potash Dome November 2004

The first club indoor event took place on 15th November 2004. The huge Dome at Boulby Potash Mine was booked for an evenings flying. The majority of models were Protech Zooms/Dolphins/Shoguns and there were a couple of Piccolo's and a Hornet too. Everyone had a great time despite most models having some sort of incident with the floor or a wall! Hopefully more indoor events will take place over the winter months when it's too dark and cold to fly outdoors.

Teesside Model Flying Club Annual Show 2004

We were invited to fly and have a stand at the TMFC annual show in 2004. Unfortunately only Martin got to fly demonstration flights with his Raptor 90 due to a lack of B-certified pilots. We did however manage to put on a good display stand with lots of helicopters that attracted lots of interest from the crowd. The weather was not the best for this sort of event but everyone stuck at it. Hopefully next year we will have more pilots flying and even more helicopters to show and it may also be a full two day event.

North East Radio Controlled Helicopter Club Fun Fly 2004

Darren, Martin and James travelled to the North East R/C Helicopter Club this year and entered in their annual fun fly. The competition consisted of flying around poles, knocking water bottles off a podium and picking up cones - all of which were done under timed conditions. Martin even came back home with a third prize trophy in the Experts category. James used the day to get his BMFA B-certificate and stunned the audience by flying around the poles in his usual inverted manner. It was just a shame that later in the day James' flight was cut short by a tail servo failure. It was a great day out helped by fantastic weather so hopefully we can attend next year and even set up our own similar event.

3D Masters Championship 2003

After his attempt in 2002 Peter re-entered the 3D Masters competition representing Cleveland Model Helicopter Club again in 2003 but this time in the Expert category. Unfortunately it wasn't to be his lucky year and a crash following the loss of his tail blades on his JR Vigor 90 put him out of the event.
